JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Construction crews have rescheduled the planned closure of Wehmeyer Drive at Route 94 in Jefferson City. Weather permitting, the roadway will now close Monday, May 20, and remain closed around-the-clock for up to five days. Motorists will need to use an alternate route for the duration of the closure.
Wehmeyer Drive is being realigned with the entrance to Hitachi Energy and a left-turn lane is being added to westbound Route 94 to improve traffic safety and mitigate traffic back-ups during peak hours.
This work is part of the larger project that includes adding a third continuous lane of travel to eastbound U.S. Route 54 and adding auxiliary lanes on Route 94. The most up-to-date traffic restrictions and information about the ongoing work along the U.S. Route 54 corridor in Jefferson can be found at www.modot.org/guide-us-route-54-improvement-projects-jefferson-city.
