ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The intersection improvement project on U.S. Route 59 and Alabama Street in St. Joseph is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, April 29. Amino Brothers Co., Inc., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, will begin with Stage 1 of the project on Alabama Street (Route 752) between Route 59 and Sherman Street.
This stage will realign Alabama Street on the east side of Route 59. It will also create right turn lanes to and from Route 59 to Alabama Street. To view a graphic of Stage 1, click here.
Traffic Impacts: During Stage 1, Alabama Street between Route 59 and Sherman Street will be closed. Access to Lake Avenue and Brown Street will also be closed. Motorists will need to seek an alternate route.
Crews are scheduled to work Monday-Friday during daylight hours. Stage 1 is anticipated to be completed by mid-August 2025. Details for Stage 2 will be shared ahead of a staging change.
