PROJECT SUMMARY
MoDOT, in coordination with the Federal Highway Administration, has completed the re-evaluation process to update the Environmental Assessment (EA) of this section of Interstate 70 (I-70). Improve I-70: Boonville to Rocheport is currently in the design process with design consultant, Burns & Mc Donnell.
This project will add a third lane to I-70 in each direction for the 13-mile section between Route 5 and the Rocheport Bridge. This project also includes plans to widen two I-70 bridges at MM 113 and 1.2 miles West of the Rocheport Bridge. The project includes a cost share with the City of Boonville to add a roundabout at the Route B and Americana Dr intersection.
This project is one of several projects which will widen the I-70 corridor across the state. MoDOT plans to let this project on January 2026. Construction is currently scheduled to begin in Spring 2026 and is anticipated to be completed late2028. Since its original construction more than 50 years ago, I-70 has been a vital lifeline for moving people, goods, and information across Missouri and beyond.
