ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Gentry County Route T bridge over Fitzgerald Creek is now open following replacement through the Fixing Access to Rural Missouri (FARM) Bridge Program. Contractors from Lehman-Wilson, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation through a design-build contract, were able to reopen the bridge this afternoon.
With the reopening of the Gentry County Route T Fitzgerald Creek Bridge, all bridges within the FARM Bridge Program are now complete. The project replaced a total of 31 bridges in rural northern Missouri thanks to a $20.8 million grant from the Federal Highway Administration and $5.2 million from MoDOT.

Design-build is a project delivery method in which one contracting team is selected to design and build the highway improvement under one contract. MoDOT provides the project goals, budget and schedule and the contractor team completes the work. This technique has been known to significantly save time and provide cost savings.
