JEFFERSON CITY, Mo – Construction crews opened one Cooper County bridge and closed another today. The Petite Saline Creek Bridge on Missouri Route 5 in Cooper County reopened today, Monday, June 24, after a bridge rehabilitation project. Crews from Gene Haile Excavating, Inc., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, closed Route 5 in late May.
With Route 5 complete, the contractor closed Route O to replace the deck of the Moniteau Creek Bridge, located between Routes J and H, south of Pisgah. The Moniteau Creek bridge was built in 1966 and while the supporting structures of the 241-foot-long bridge are in good condition, the bridge deck is in poor condition and needs replaced.
Route O may be closed up to 90 days at the bridge, through September, in order to replace the driving surface For more details, visit the project’s webpage at https://www.modot.org/route-o-bridge-deck-replacement-cooper-county.
