Overpass work to impact ramps at Route 54, Route 63, Route 94 interchange beginning July 15

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.Rehabilitation work on the U.S. Route 63/Missouri Route 94 overpass bridges over U.S. Route 54 is set to begin next week. Starting July 15, Magruder Paving, LLC, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, will reduce both overpasses to one lane for deck repairs and a concrete overlay. Work is expected to be complete mid-September

While the bridges will remain open through construction, for the safety of motorists and workers, some traffic will be rerouted around the work.

During construction, the ramps from U.S. Route 54 to U.S. Route 63, and from U.S. Route 63 to U.S. Route 54 will remain open. However, there will be no access to the following:

  • Westbound Route 94 to northbound U.S. Route 63.
    • Detour route: Eastbound U.S. Route 54 to Summit Drive, then westbound U.S. Route 54 to northbound U.S. Route 63.
    • Temporary signals have been installed at Summit Drive to guide traffic.
  • Westbound U.S. Route 54 exit to Route 94.
    • Detour route: Route W to eastbound U.S. Route 54 to Route 94.
  • Route 94 to westbound U.S. Route 54/southbound U.S. Route 63
    • Detour route: Eastbound U.S. Route 54 to Summit Drive, then westbound U.S. Route 54.

All other ramps are expected to remain open.

This is one of several projects aimed at enhancing safety, easing congestion, and prolonging the life expectancy of roads and bridges along the busy U.S. Route 54 corridor in Jefferson City.
