A project fact sheet was created for public engagement, local cities, and counties, that include information about the various safety improvements such as “Bump Outs” which are traffic calming measures, (click here for to download Safety Improvements Project Fact Sheet). The Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety awarded the MoDOT and St. Louis County Safety Improvements Project will the 2024 HOPE (Highway Opportunities through Professional Engineering Award at the September Missouri Highways Safety and Traffic Conference. Added snowplowable median island at Lucas and Hunt Road. Crews installed centerline rumble strips at S. Eatherton Road and outside guardrail. At Valie Avenue in Florissant, Missouri in St. Louis County a two-way left-turn lane was raised to a median. ADA curb ramp upgrades were completed in the City of St. Louis (Arsenal Street) and in Jefferson County.
Additionally:
- Chevrons were added to Route 30 in Jefferson County
- High-visibility, continental crosswalks
- Bump outs were implements along Route 340
- Retroflective backplates at two locations in the City of St. Louis
