Traffic Moving Slowly as Backup Clears

JEFFERSON CITY – Westbound Interstate 44 has opened to traffic in Phelps County west of Rolla at mile marker 176. Crews are treating the hill. Traffic is still backed up between Cuba and St. James. Drivers should be cautious for stop and go and generally slow moving traffic in this area.
With the bitter cold temperatures staying for a few more days, motorists are advised to use caution and watch for changing road conditions. Check the Traveler Information Map for updates on traffic or winter road conditions https://traveler.modot.org/map/.
