JEFFERSON COUNTY- Crews will close North Third Street under I-55 in Jefferson County starting at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 21 for bridge demolition.
North Third Street will be closed on Friday, March 21 at 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Monday, March 24. Traffic on southbound I-55 has been shifted onto a new bridge over North Third Street allowing for demolition of the old southbound structure. All lanes of I-55 will remain open.
Motorists and pedestrians are encouraged to use alternative routes during the weekend closure. All work is weather permitting.
