HANNIBAL – Weather permitting, as early as April 7, a 45-mile resurfacing project is scheduled to begin near Clarence and move south toward Centralia through Shelby, Monroe, Audrain, and Boone counties. This work will occur on the following routes with an anticipated completion by late-May.
- Missouri Route 151 - from 0.3 miles north of U.S. Route 36 in Shelby County to Missouri Route 22 near Centralia in Boone County (3 disconnected sections)
- Business Route 36 - 0.03 mile east of Grand Street to Missouri Route 151 in Clarence in Shelby County
The $9M contract, awarded last year to Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. of Columbia, Missouri, includes several additional resurfacing projects, which are tentatively scheduled to be begin in late Spring and will be completed by November 1, 2025:
- Missouri Route 151 - from Missouri Route 156 in Knox County to 0.3 miles north of U.S. Route 36 near Clarence in Shelby County (22.5 miles)
- Business Route 36 - from U.S. Route 36 west junction to U.S. Route 36 east junction in Shelbina in Shelby County (1.7 miles)
- Route K - from Missouri Route 151 to Missouri Route 15 in Shelbyville in Shelby County (10.5 miles)
Traffic will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction at the location where crews are actively working. Flaggers and a pilot car will be utilized for traffic control to guide traffic through the work zone. All work is weather dependent and schedules are subject to change.
