Benton, Henry, St. Clair Counties – Drivers can expect lane closures and occasional traffic delays on several rural routes in Benton, Henry and St. Clair counties beginning the week of April 9 the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
This project is part of Gov. Parson’s Rural Road program. The state’s approved Fiscal Year 2023 budget provided an additional $100 million in General Revenue for work on Missouri’s low volume rural roads. Using asset management data, MoDOT has identified approximately 1,700 lane miles of low volume roads ranked in Poor Condition.
This is the work being done on this project:
- Clair County Route TT from Missouri Route 13 south of Osceola to St. Clair County Route T east of Gerster
- Henry County Route T from Missouri Route 18 west of Clinton to the end of state maintenance at Southwest 450th Road south of Clinton
- Henry County Route W from Missouri Route 7 east of Clinton south to the end of state maintenance at Southeast 561st Road
- Benton County Route A from Whiteman Road on the Benton/Pettis County line south to Benton County Route AD
- Benton County Route DD from the start of state maintenance at Maiden Road east of Warsaw south to Missouri Route 7
- Benton County Route W from Missouri Route 52 east of Cole Camp south to Benton County Route H
Contractor crews will add an overlay of new asphalt and permanent striping to the above routes.
Traffic impacts:
- Traffic reduced to one lane where contractor crews are laying asphalt
- Drivers will encounter flaggers and pilot cars where crews are working. Drivers should wait for the pilot vehicle before proceeding through the work zone or before entering the work zone from a side road.
- Vehicles parked along these routes should be removed to allow the contractor to remove and replace the asphalt surface
- Work will be during daytime hours, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.-7 p.m.; all lanes open to traffic at night
- No signed detour
- Drivers should find alternate routes
- Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zones
- Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
Drivers are urged to use caution as they may experience a rough ride in areas until the resurfacing project is complete.
Weather and/or scheduling delays could alter the work schedule.
