Completion of Route MM at Union Pacific Railroad overpass delayed until Early 2026

FRANKLIN COUNTY- The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will be extending the closure of Route MM at the Union Pacific Railroad Overpass near Labadie.

Due to these unforeseen circumstances, the closure of Route MM will be extended beyond the original Fall 2025 completion date. Due to the need for additional earthwork, the roadway is expected to be reopened to traffic by early 2026.

This work was originally expected to be completed within a 90-day closure timeframe. However, as excavation work began near the railroad in late July, concerns regarding the stability of the existing soil conditions arose.  Further soil and stability analysis was performed in August to ensure the safety of the slopes and the working conditions at the site.

This analysis resulted in a modified work plan. Additional stabilizing earthwork is expected to begin the week of September 22.

Once this is completed, construction of the retaining wall and roadway realignment work will resume.

 All work is weather-dependent.
