Planned Road Work for Mid-Missouri

Sept. 15 - 21, 2025

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work planned in the midMissouri area Sept. 1521, 2025. Weather conditions may postpone scheduled work. Many projects will include lane closures which could cause delays.      

All Counties 

Other moving operations such as pothole patching, mowing, and pavement repairs continue in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert for slow-moving equipment. 

All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change. 

Boone County   

Route NN – Pavement repairs planned Sept. 16 – 18. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route TT Pedestrian facility upgrades continue from Yorkshire Drive to Fairview Road. Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent single-lane closures with flaggers to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2025. 

Route K and Old Plank Road intersection – Roundabout construction continuesThe intersection will remain open, but is narrowed to one lane with temporary traffic signals directing motorists through the work zone. Motorists should expect delays. This is a cost share project between the City of Columbia and MoDOT. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2025. 

U.S. Route 63 Interchange improvements at Route AC (Grindstone Parkway) continue. Northbound traffic is narrowed from Sugar Grove Road to approximately 1 mile north Grindstone Parkway. A 10-foot width restriction is in place. The project is expected to continue through November 2026. 

U.S. Route 63 Bridge rehabilitation continues between Broadway (south of Interstate 70) and Vandiver Drive (north of I-70) in Columbia. The roadway will remain open but in a head-to-head configuration with narrowed lanes and reduced speeds. This traffic pattern is expected to be in place through October 2025. This work is part of the Improve I-70 program. Learn more at modot.org/improvei70/columbiakingdomcity. 

I-70New pavement construction continues between Route B (Paris Road) and U.S. Route 63 as part of the Improve I-70 Program. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project, which is expected to be complete in 2027. Learn more at modot.org/improvei70/columbiakingdomcity. 

Callaway County 

Route J – Pavement resurfacing continues. One lane will remain open with a 10-foot width restriction, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2025. 

South Outer Road 70 (Jade Road) and North Outer Road 70 (Old U.S. Route 40) CLOSED for a culvert replacement project at Sallees Creek, west of Kingdom City. Motorists will need to use an alternate route during the closures, which are expected to continue through February 2026. 

I-70 – New pavement construction continues from the Boone County line (near mile marker 136.6) to Kingdom City (near mile marker 148) as part of the Improve I-70 Program. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project, which has an overall completion date in 2027. Learn more at modot.org/improvei70/columbiakingdomcity 

I-70 Westbound ramps – the ramps to and from Route J (Exit 137) are CLOSED for the next several months.  As an alternate route, motorists can take Exit 144 and use the North Outer Road 70 to Route J. To continue westbound on I-70 from Route J, motorists can take the North Outer Road 70 to Exit 133. The South Outer Road 70 is not continuous and does not connect to Route J. 

Camden County 

Missouri Route 5 – Pavement striping planned Sept. 15 – 18 from the city limits of Lebanon to Camdenton. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route H – Pavement resurfacing continues. One lane will remain open with a 10-foot width restriction, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2025. 

Route JJ – Pavement resurfacing continues. One lane will remain open with a 10-foot width restriction, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2025. 

Route A Resurfacing continues. One lane will remain open with a 10-foot lane restriction, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2025. 

Cole County 

Route C – Pavement repairs planned Sept. 15 from Missouri Route 179 to Ellis Boulevard. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route E Resurfacing scheduled to begin Sept. 15. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2025. 

U.S. Route 54 Westbound – Bridge rehabilitation continues over Moreau River Drainage, south of Jefferson City. The road is narrowed to one lane with an 11-foot width restriction and speed reductions are in place through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2025.  

Associated access restriction through October 2025: 

  • Eastbound U.S. Route 54 access to and from Twin Bridges Road CLOSED. 

U.S. Route 54 Bridge replacement continues over Neighorn Branch, south of Jefferson City. Traffic is narrowed to one lane in each direction and in a head-to-head configuration for the duration of project. A 14-foot width restriction and speed reductions as low as 45 mph are in place through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2025. 

Associated access restrictions through November 2025: 

  • Route CC: 
  • No access from U.S. Route 54 eastbound to Route CC. 
  • No access from Route CC to either direction of U.S. Route 54. 
  • Shepherd Hills Road/Wooded Hills Lane intersection: 
  • No access to or from westbound U.S. Route 54 at Shepherd Hills Road. 
  • No access to or from eastbound U.S. Route 54 at Wooded Hills Lane. 

U.S. Route 54 Bridge replacement continues over Vetter Lane. Traffic is narrowed to one lane in each direction and in a head-to-head configuration for the duration of project. A 12-foot width restriction and speed reductions are in place through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2025. 

Associated access restrictions through December 2025: 

  • Vetter Lane is CLOSED under the bridge. 
  • Clark Avenue on-ramp to eastbound U.S. Route 50 is CLOSED. 

 

Crawford County 

Missouri Route 8 Culvert replacement planned Sept. 15 18 from Route TT to Route Y. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route CC – Pavement repairs planned Sept. 15 – 18. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Routes DD and M – Culvert replacement planned Sept. 1518. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

North Outer Road 44 – Pavement repairs planned Sept. 15 – 18 from Route F to Route U. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Old Route 66 – Diamond grinding planned Sept. 15 – 18. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route J – Bridge replacement continues over Boone Creek. The bridge is CLOSED. A signed detour is in place to direct motorists around the closure. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2025.  

Dent County 

Route 8 – Culvert replacement planned Sept. 15 – 18 in various locations. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Routes B, K, and N – Culvert replacement planned Sept. 15 – 18. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Gasconade County 

Missouri Route 100 – Pavement repairs planned Sept. 1518 from 27th Street to Zumsteg Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Missouri Route 19 – Pavement resurfacing continues from U.S. Route 50 to the Crawford County line. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2025. 

U.S. Route 50 – Pavement resurfacing continues from west of Linn to east of Rosebud. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2026. 

Howard County 

Route H – Bridge maintenance planned Sept. 15 – 18 over Salt Fork. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route P – Pavement repairs planned Sept. 15 – 18. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route 5 – Bridge replacement continues over Bear Creek in Glasgow. One lane will remain open, and temporary traffic signals will direct motorists through the work zone. A 12-foot width restriction is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2025. 

Laclede County 

Route 5 – Pavement striping planned Sept. 15 – 18 from Lebanon to the city limits of Camdenton. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

South Outer Road 44 CLOSED for a bridge rehabilitation over Bear Creek near Exit 135. Motorists must use an alternate route. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2025. 

Route JJ – Pavement resurfacing continues. One lane will remain open with a 10-foot width restriction, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2025. 

Route E Resurfacing continues. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2025. 

Maries County 

Missouri Route 41 – Pavement repairs planned Sept. 15 – 18 in various locations. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route C – Culvert replacement planned Sept. 15 – 18. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route AA Bridge replacement continues over the Little Maries River. The bridge is CLOSED, with a signed detour in place. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2025. 

Miller County 

Missouri Route 52 – Pavement repairs planned Sept. 15 – 18 through the city limits of Eldon. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Missouri Route 17 – Pavement repairs planned Sept. 15 – 18 in various locations. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route EE – Pavement repairs planned Sept. 15 – 18. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Cave Drive – Pavement repairs planned Sept. 15 – 18. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Moniteau County 

Route U – Bridge replacement scheduled to begin Sept. 15 over Howard Creek. The bridge will be CLOSED and motorists will need to seek an alternate route. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2025. 

Route F Pavement repairs planned Sept. 15. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route U – Pavement repairs planned Sept. 16 – 18. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Missouri Route 87 and Route C intersection – Roundabout construction continues.  The intersection will remain open, but is narrowed to one lane with temporary traffic signals directing motorists through the work zone. Motorists should expect delays. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2025. 

Morgan County 

Route 52 Roundabout construction continues in Versailles at the intersection of Route 52 and Route 5. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2025. 

Osage County 

Route T Resurfacing scheduled to begin Sept. 15. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2025. 

U.S. Route 50 – Pavement resurfacing continues from west of Linn to east of Rosebud. One lane will remain open and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2026. 

Phelps County 

I-44 Bridge rehabilitation continues over Little Piney Creek. Work will require temporary daily closures. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2025. 

Route J Roadside work planned Sept. 1518. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

North Outer Road 44 Roadside work planned Sept. 15 – 18 from Route V to Route 8. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

U.S. Route 63 Pavement improvements continue approximately 1 mile south of Route W. Work is being done by Courtney Construction Company under a MoDOT-issued permit. One lane will remain open with an 11-foot width restriction in place. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2025. 

Route D Bridge rehabilitation continues over I–44, approximately 7 miles southwest of Doolittle. The bridge is CLOSED, with a signed detour in place. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2025. 

Missouri Route 72 and Route KKPedestrian facility upgrades continue on Route 72 in Rolla and Route KK in St. James. Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent single-lane closures with flaggers to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2025. 

Pulaski County 

Missouri Route 133 – Culvert replacements planned Sept. 1518 from the city limits of Crocker to Route T. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Missouri Route 28 Bridge rehabilitation continues over I–44 in St. Robert. The bridge is CLOSED, with a signed detour in place. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2025. 

Washington County 

Missouri Route 47 – Bridge replacement scheduled to begin Sept. 16 over Mill Creek. The bridge will be CLOSED. A signed detour will be in place to direct motorists around the closure. This project is scheduled for completion in November 2025. 

Route 8 – Bridge rehabilitation continues over the Union Pacific Railroad. The roadway will remain open throughout the project but is narrowed to one lane. Motorists should expect delays.  

Route C CLOSED for a bridge replacement project over Big River. A signed detour is in place to direct motorist around the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2025.
