Kansas City area maintenance work for May 11-15

LEE’S SUMMIT, MO – The Missouri Department of Transportation will be performing maintenance work throughout the Kansas City region from May 11 until May 15. All work is weather permitting.

JACKSON COUTNY

Missouri Route 291 southbound at Coutney Rd.: right lane closed from Monday, May 11 until Wednesday, May 13, from approximately 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily, for shoulder work.

U.S. Route 40 westbound at Blue Ridge Blvd.: ramp closed to Blue Ridge Blvd and right lane closed beneath Blue Ridge Blvd on Wednesday, May 13, from approximately 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., for drainage work.

Interstate 435 southbound at 87th St.: two left lanes closed on Tuesday, May 12, from approximately 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., for pavement repair work.

JOHNSON COUNTY

Missouri Route 23: flagging operations for pavement work (approximately 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily)

  • Monday, May 11 until Wednesday, May 13: between Route CC and Route E
  • Thursday, May 14: between Route E and NE 500 Rd.

PETTIS COUNTY

Route F between U.S. Route 65 and end of state maintenance: flagging operations on Monday, May 11, from approximately 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily, for pavement repair.

Route U between Route V and 28th St.: flagging operations from Tuesday, May 12 until Thursday, May 14, from approximately 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily, for pavement repair.

SALINE COUNTY

Missouri Route 41 north between Missouri Route 240 and Route F: flagging operations on Monday, May 11 and Tuesday, May 12, from approximately 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily, for pavement work.

Route 41 south between Route 240 and Cooper County line: flagging operations on Wednesday, May 13 and Thursday, May 14, from approximately 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily, for pavement work.

MoDOT maintenance crews often perform other tasks throughout the work week such as pothole patching, litter pick-up, sign repairs, brush cutting, and other operations that are not included above as they pose limited impacts to traffic.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
