Greene Co. Route J Culvert Replacement Project Focus of Virtual Public Meeting May 18-June 1

Frequently Asked Questions:
How will this work impact traffic on Route J?
Both culverts will be replaced one at a time and will require complete closures of Route J to remove the existing structures, build the new ones, and regrade the road to improve visibility, drainage, and driver comfort.
Will there be a signed detour?
A signed detour will redirect traffic approaching Route J on U.S. 60 and Route D/Sunshine St. to use U.S. 65 or Route 125 for northbound/southbound trips instead of Route J. The same detour will be used for closures at both locations.
Will I be able to access my property on Route J?
Yes. Complete closures of Route J will be localized to each culvert. Temporary access will be provided during construction to properties directly impacted by this work until completion of the project. Any occasional interruptions to access will be minimized and communicated to the affected property owners.
Does this project affect any local roads?
As a result of the proposed grade change at the Turner Creek crossing, access from Route J to Farm Road 150 will be temporarily restricted. Access to Spring Circle and Ridgeline Drive will not be interrupted, nor will access to Farm Roads 168 & 170 at the Kinser Branch crossing.
How long will construction be active at each location?
Work over Turner Creek is projected to last 131 days & work over Kinser Branch is projected to last 87 days.
Will MoDOT need to acquire additional right-of-way for this project?
Yes, additional right-of-way will be needed at both locations to construct the project. Please review the exhibits for additional information. A Right of Way representative will be contacting affected landowners to begin the acquisition process. For more information on the acquisition process, please see the Pathways of Progress display above.
