Boone County Interstate 70 Bridge Rehabilitations over Perche Creek
Below are details, resources and news about the rehabilitations of the Interstate 70 bridges over Perche Creek in Boone County, west of Columbia. The old eastbound bridge was constructed in 1958 and the former westbound bridge was constructed in 1940. Each bridge carries approximately 23,000 vehicles per day.
Both bridges were included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state. Check out the Focus on Bridges page for more information about the program.

The contract amount is $2,439,558.
Work Taking Place:
Crews rehabilitated both of the I-70 bridges. These are regular maintenance procedures that include replacing expansion joints, reinforcing the substructures, and applying a protective coat that will shield the bridges from weather and erosion. These improvements will extend the life of the bridges by at least 25 years.
Project Milestones
The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded the contract to Emery Sapp and Sons, Inc., which submitted the low bid of $2,439,558.
