JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Improvements to Camden County Route D are scheduled to get underway next week. Beginning March 3, construction crews working with the Missouri Department of Transportation will begin adding shoulders to the first 4.75 miles of Route D and shifting the road away from the historic post office.
The road will remain open throughout construction however Route D will be narrowed to one lane in short segments with a flagger and pilot car directing motorists through the work zone. The single-lane closures will take place between 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
After the shoulders are constructed, the entire length of Route D from U.S. Route 54 to Laclede County Route E will be resurfaced with all work is expected to wrap up in early June.
All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
MoDOT asks all motorists to work with us by buckling up, putting your phone down, obeying all traffic signs, and slowing down and moving over in work zones. Motorists are advised to use extra caution through work zones, obey all traffic signs, and avoid any distractions.
