When the thumb of the bucket is not in use, it can securely and safely be hooked and held in place to allow for bucket only operation. Without the thumb holder, hydraulic hoses were unhooked to return the thumb to its resting position when it wasn’t in use. There was then a risk of bleed-off, which could result in equipment damage or personal injury. This innovation allows the thumb to securely, safely, and easily be held in place while not in use.
