Innovation Description and Benefit:

The Band Spreader is a tool that assists in spreading metal bands apart while connecting two pieces of corrugated pipe. In the past several attempts were made to make a spreader, but we couldn’t find a way to extend far enough, or the device would fail and the band would snap back. This spreader simplifies the process and minimizes pinch points whereas before we would try to separate it with bolts or prybars. We can safely and quickly assemble two pipes and a band in approximately 15 minutes.
