Innovation Description and Benefit:
There is a generational shift within MoDOT resulting in less experienced employees stepping into new roles of increasing responsibility and there is insufficient training available to help employees develop the skills needed to deliver a sustainable transportation program. Investing in our employees development is a top priority and there has been a shift within Program Delivery to ensure both time and budget resources are provided to ensure all employees receive the training needed to ensure our workforce is developed and is sustainable into the future. The Program Delivery Training program was created to provide access to high quality MoDOT specific training. The availability of high-quality training for employee development improves job satisfaction, morale and motivation. MoDOT specific training can quickly increase employee technical competency and help mitigate the cost of losing highly skilled employees.
