Innovation Description and Benefit:

ArcGIS Pro TMS Viewer is a custom configuration built for MoDOT’s ArcGIS Pro software. This innovation integrates mapping templates, tools, and dock panes to provide a seamless GIS experience for users. It simplifies access to a dozen pre-built maps and offers 15 tools that streamline workflows, allowing users to perform complex tasks in just a few clicks.  The Viewer was developed to replace MoDOT’s outdated ArcMap-based TMS Viewer, which became obsolete with the discontinuation of ArcMap support. Rather than just duplicating old tools, the project team rebuilt them from the ground up, improving functionality and consistency with a focusing on front-end familiarity for transitioning, existing users.While programming the new tools, we noticed similar workflows and functions being repeated within each tool. This allowed us to consolidate our existing code with a Utilities class of common function and sped up the development process. We can also use these functions to develop new tools for the department.
